Amar Nagaram, the CEO of Myntra, has resigned
Bengaluru: Amar Nagaram, the CEO of Flipkart-owned Myntra, has stepped down nearly three years after taking the helm of the fashion e-marketplace, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Nagaram was named CEO in January 2019 and will continue to advise the company.
“…Myntra’s CEO, Amar Nagaram, has been a powerful enabler, leading the company to offer extremely engaging and individualised fashion experiences for clients.” Amar has decided to leave the Flipkart Group after nearly three years as CEO of Myntra to start his own company “Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy stated in a statement to workers on Friday. “Amar has been a vital part of the Group for nearly ten years, and prior to his present post, he headed numerous teams at Flipkart, and we shall miss his presence in the team.””
Nagaram reported to Krishnamurthy directly. A copy of the email has been reviewed by Mint.
Nagaram will remain with the company until the end of December to ensure a smooth transition and will continue to serve as an advisor.
Krishnamurthy added, “We will release details of his successor shortly.”
Myntra did not reply to requests for comment.
After his predecessor Anath Narayanan departed from the company, Nagaram, who was vice president at Flipkart, took over as CEO of both Myntra and apparel portal Jabong. Then, in early 2020, Walmart-owned Jabong ceased operations to concentrate solely on its premium fashion portal Myntra.
