Anand Kumar’s ‘Super 30’ IIT aspirant programme will expand beyond Bihar

The mathematician Anand Kumar’s ‘Super 30’ programme, which prepares 30 outstanding and poor Bihar students for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) colleges, will soon be spread beyond the state.

“We are planning and executing the programme, and we expect to debut it in March 2022,” Anand Kumar stated in an interview with The Indian Express.
Kumar founded the Super 30 programme in 2002 to assist students from Bihar who lacked financial resources in passing the coveted Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to the IITs. Since then, a group of 30 students has been selected each year and is given free preparation for the admission exam.
In the 2019 film Super 30, starring actor Hrithik Roshan, Kumar’s involvement in establishing the programme for IIT applicants is highlighted.
