Apple fined 19 million dollars for no chargers in the box, Brazilians to receive chargers for free?
Amidst all criticism pertaining to no chargers in a box by Apple by various users worldwide, the brand is facing something serious. Apple, the tech giant, faced a bizarre situation in Brazil. iPhone buyers in the country filed a petition in Brazil and this went to court. The brand has been fined a humongous sum of 19 million dollars in Brazil. They are now trying to escape this and trying to justify themselves.
The brand mentioned that they were not providing chargers due to environmental reasons such as climate change. They are working on an ongoing green initiative for a sustainable environment, justified Apple in the court. The buyers also added that an iPhone without a charger was an incomplete product. Amidst these allegations, Apple has been asked to compensate and provide chargers to all customers in Brazil who have bought iPhones post the 13th of October, 2020 with no chargers present in the box. Other brands such as Samsung amongst others have also done this in the past. Will Apple be able to escape the fine? Will their justification be accepted? Or will this lead to a major loss of the tech giant and big brand Apple from Silicon Valley? It’s up to us to wait and watch what lies ahead in Brazil for Apple.
There have been several lawsuits and complaints against Apple pertaining to the same issue. Apple is also facing other issues in the European Union related to the USB C Port. The brand will have to adhere to the standards and produce the technology accordingly from 2024 onwards.
