China’s Xiaomi produces the first smartphones in Vietnam

Xiaomi is a Chinese company and has its major ground in electronics. The company has its presence in over 100 countries and regions and has been the world’s most valued tech startup in 2014. Xiaomi currently ranks in the 70th position on the Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands in 2021 by Kantar BrandZ. The smartphone of Xiaomi includes different series like the Mi series, Mi Note Series, Mi Max Series, Mi Mix Series, Redmi Series, and more. It has around 291.6 million active users for its MIUI updates. Besides the company also offers a wide range of laptops, mobile apps, mobile accessories, smart-home devices, and much more.

It was reported that China’s Xiaomi has produced its first batch of smartphones in Vietnam, as it tries to expand its foothold in Southeast Asia. The devices were produced at a factory in the province of Thai Nguyen, north of the capital Hanoi. The plant is operated by Xiaomi’s partner, DBG Technology.

Vietnam became a regional manufacturing hub for global electronics makers in recent years. The export value of smartphones from the country that was mostly produced by Samsung Electronics, rose 12.4% the previous year to US$57.5 billion.

According to Xiaomi, the first batch of its smartphone made in Vietnam had been sent to a local distributor, and it would also start exporting it to other Southeast Asian markets.
