After a two-day pause, gasoline and diesel prices rose to a new high across the country on October 28, Thursday. Following today’s increase, a litre of petrol costs Rs 108.29 in the national capital, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 97.02. Petrol costs Rs 114.14 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs 105.12 per litre. A litre of petrol costs Rs 105.13 in Chennai, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 101.25. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol costs Rs 108.78 and a litre of diesel costs Rs 100.14. In Bhopal, petrol prices have risen to Rs 116.98 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 106.38 per litre.
Oil marketing corporations such as Hindustan Petroleum, Indian Oil, and Bharat Petroleum change the prices of gasoline and diesel. Every day at 6 a.m., the new prices go into effect. Because of differing value-added taxes, local and freight charges that vary from place to place, fuel prices fluctuate between states and localities.
