Elon Musk mocked Mary Barra for believing that GM is the US leader in EV Market
The Chief Executive Officer of the multinational automotive manufacturing company General Motors, Mary Barra is confident that her firm is the leader in Electric Vehicles market in the US when it accounts for just 10 percent of the market. The Tesla CEO mocked her for her nonsense assumption.
Tesla has about 63 percent of the electric-vehicle market which makes it the pioneer in the EVs. But Mary Barra believes that GM can catch up to Tesla till 2025 and considers the firm to be the US leader and No.2 in China. She claims that the General Motors have brands that the customers trust and also has the highest loyalty rating. She said, “We’ll be rolling them out, and we’re going to just keep working until we have No. 1 market share.”
On thus, a travel advisor who is often seen writing reviews about people and places, Kim Paquette tweeted, “Despite #Tesla taking 63% of the EV market, Mary Barra has managed to convince herself that GM is the US leader in EVs. 🤣🤦♀️ @elonmusk.”
The richest man of the world, who is also known for his humor and engaging with his audience, Elon Musk is again in the spotlight for his comments. Now, he is seen mocking Mary Barra by tweeting, “Must be nice living in Cloud Cuckoo Land.”
In the tweet, Musk criticized her for her over optimistic nature as she believes that GM is the US leader in EV market. The Cloub Cuckoo Land came from The Birds by the Greek Dramatist Aristophanes in which the birds decide to build a perfect city called the Cloub Cockoo City. It symbolizes state of unrealistic and impossible fancy.
The billionaire is pointing towards Mary’s believe that things will happen the way she wants. He is indirectly saying the Mary is in the illusion that she is the leader and she will overtake Tesla to take the first position in the market.
