Gautam Adani became the richest man of Asia, Will Mukesh Ambani dethrone him and take his title back? Check it out!

The chairman of Adani Group Gautam Adani has surpassed the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani to become the richest man of Asia and also the country on Wednesday.

In March 2020, Adani’s net worth was USD 4.91 billion. Then since April 2020 his Net Worth rose significantly to USD 90 billion, a surge of more than 1800 per cent. In this year, Adani has added $55 billion to his wealth in 2021 compared to the addition of $14.3 billion by Mukesh Ambani.

Mukesh Ambani on the other hand, who was holding the position of richest man of Asia since 2015 was hit when RIL shut down its $15 billion deal with Aramco, a Saudi Arabian public petroleum and natural gas company. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index Mukesh Ambani had a net worth of $91 billion on Tuesday maintaining his position while Adani had a fortune of $88.8 billion.

Then unexpectedly, Adani Group’s shares soared on Wednesday and the shares of Reliance Industries underwent significant decline which made the second richest man of Asia Gautam Adani to become the first richest man. He successfully closed the wealth gap with Ambani amid rising share value of its group companies such as Adani Transmission (risen 400% in the last one year), Adani Enterprises (up 333% in the last one year), Adani Power (up 170% since November 2020), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (up 93% in the last one year) etc.

But after all this, The billionaire Mukesh Ambani is not going to sit back and watch the show. The Reliance Industries Limited also witnessed a rise of 5% in its worth of shares which may lead to the dethroning of Adani Gautam by Ambani.
