The online-grocery delivery system, Grofers has rebranded itself as Blinkit as it looks forward to become an important part of the fast-growing quick commerce or q-commerce market.
The delivery startup Grofers is on the journey to be the future of commerce and delivery systems. It will start providing the service of instant delivery within just 10 minutes. In these busy and fast lives, Blinkit will deliver your necessities in a blink of an eye.
The founder and chief executive officer of Blinkit, Alibinder Dhindsa said in a blog post, “We learnt a lot as Grofers, and all our learnings, our team, and our infrastructure is being repurposed to pivot to something with staggering product-market fit – quick commerce. Today, we are surging ahead as a new company, and we have a new mission statement – “instant commerce indistinguishable from magic. And we will no longer be doing this as Grofers – we will be doing it as Blinkit.”
The company claims to have already handled a million orders from 12 cities in India.
The traditional e-commerce websites delivers the goods in two to three days to the customers doorstep but now the newly growing industry is quick commerce websites which provides the instant delivery within an hour. They accomplish the challenge by developing a network of local stores, small warehouses to stock inventories in different cities to fast deliver goods in proximity locations.
The company has also raised $100 million from its investor Zomato in the beginning of this year. The latest rebranding will result in improvement of the company’s services and functioning.
