GST Payment Facility Through UPI And Debit Card/Credit Card Is Now Also Available In Jammu & Kashmir

Indian Government in order to facilitate the taxpayer registered under GST with more facilities and convenience announced two new facilities of payment under e-payment a few months back in 10 states. These new methods are Cards and Unified Payments Interface (UPI). In card, facility includes Credit Card (CC) and Debit Cards (DC) namely Mastercard, Visa, RuPay, and Diners(CC only)
issued by any Indian bank.  Payment through CC/DC/UPI can be made through Kotak Mahindra Bank irrespective of CC/DC issued by any Indian bank. As per the announcement, other banks are in the process of integration that will soon allow them to pay through other banks.

When this facility was announced it only reached 10 states but now it is available to taxpayers in 16 states including Jammu & Kashmir which shows the government’s commitment to providing the best possible facilities to all parts of the country.  This facility is currently available in 16 states of India: Assam, Delhi, Goa, Gujrat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh. This effort by the government will for sure offer taxpayers convenience, speed, and security. It also shows the government’s reliance on the UPI method of payment.

Follow these steps to pay your GST

  1. Log in to www.gst.gov.in
  2. Create Challan and select E-Payment
  3. Choose from multiple payment options such as Credit/Debit Card or UPI.
  4. Select Kotak Mahindra Bank and click on Make Payment.
  5. Enter Credit/Debit Card or UPI details of any bank of your choice.
  6. Complete the transaction.
