Honor filed a Honor for Knights trademark in India, proprietor Madhav Sheth
Huawei sub-brand Honor is looking ahead to make a comeback in India after one year and that too with a smartphone. This has been revealed by a tipster named Mukul Sharma who wrote on Twitter that “Honor has filed a new trademark, dubbed Honor for Knights in India”. The image shared by the tipster shows application number 5976635 and class 9 which belongs to smartphones/tablets. The product description of the new trademark filed by Honor shows “Cell phones, Mobile phones, Mobile phone cases, Mobile phone straps, Mobile phone covers, Mobile phone covers, Mobile phone chargers, Mobile phone speakers, Mobile phone battery chargers and mobile phone accessories being included in class 9”.
And not so surprisingly, the proprietor of the trademark registered by Honor is Madhav Sheth, former CEO of Realme India. Honor earlier filed a trademark for the Honor C1 RF chipset and for the Honor CarConnect.
Speculations were hovering around Madhav Sheth joining Honor even before he left Realme by sharing a goodbye note on Twitter. Though this trademark filing does not reveal any specs of this upcoming product it suggests its near launch in the Indian market.
As the Indian government toughened its stand on Chinese smartphone brands Honor withdrew itself from the Indian market. Earlier Honor denied such reports but in July of last year, it officially announced its departure from the Indian market.
