Is air India deal with Tata in trouble as Subramanian Swamy moves to Delhi High court quash the deal?
Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has moved Delhi High Court seeking to quash the Air India Disinvestment process. The Rajya Sabha MP has also sought directions from HC to set away and stop any action or decision or entitlement of any farther blessings or permits or warrants, etc by the” replier authorities with respect to the present Air India Disinvestment process.”
In October 2021, Tata Sons had won the offer for acquiring Air India for Rs18,000 crore. Tata Sons, which firstly launched Air India in 1932, shot for the public carrier under its completely- possessed attachment Talance Pvt Ltd for 18,000Rs crore.
The government has said that the interest of the employees and retired employees would be taken care of in the disinvestment process.
In November last year, the Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal had reportedly said all efforts were being by the Government for completing the disinvestment process of Air India by the end of December, 2021
The government will divest its 100 per cent stake in Air India, Air India Express, and 50 per cent stake in ground handling company AISATS
