Madhav Sheth officially quits Realme India, may join Honor soon
Realme vice president of India and President of Realme International Business group Madhav Sheth announced his resignation from Realme. He said that Sky Li, founder, and CEO of the brand, will now oversee the market. In his “goodbye” post he wrote that “I will continue to cheer the brand from the sidelines. I’m still a strong supporter and a strategic advisor to Realme for its development strategy, global product observations, market insight, and operating suggestions”.
Sheth became the face of the brand in a short span of time and was credited with the smartphone brand’s expansion in India, capturing a market share of as much as 17% in just three years since its market entry in 2018.
Sheth remembered unforgettable moments, memories, and landmarks during his five-year journey which were
- “First ever smartphone launch in a university, alongside the youth.
- Realme becoming the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India, with 50 million product sales.
- Realme attaining the position of India’s second-largest smartphone brand.
- Realme becoming the number one quality smartphone brand in India.
- The establishment of our exclusive and flagship stores, expanding our presence across the country while uploading our commitment to ‘Make in India’ and exports to other religions.
- Popularising the adoption of 5 G-enabled smartphones and paving the way for future-ready India. “
“While we bid farewell to Madhav, we want to assure our customers, partners, and stakeholders that Realme’s operations will continue seamlessly,” Realme said in a statement. Earlier this month ET reported that Sheth was to join hands with PSAV Global to help re-launch Huawei- owned Honor smartphones in India. Though Sheth has not yet made any announcement in regard to joining PSAV Global.
