Motorcycle Sales of 200cc – 500cc Segment in December 2022: Royal Enfield Bikes Tops the List

Here’s the list of the motorcycle sales of 200cc – 500cc segment recorded in the month of December, 2022. The top 6 bikes in the list are from Royal Enfield.

As mentioned, six bikes from Royal Enfield tops the list. It includes the Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Electra 350 and the Himalayan.

However except for the sales of Bullet 350, all the other bikes under performed in sales than previous year. The Hunter 350, which had its debut in August of 2022, has sold 17, 261 units and comes in the second of the list. The Classic 350 tops the list and has sold a total of 20,682 units

Followed by the Royal Enfield bikes, there is the Hness CB350, a cruiser bike from Honda launched to compete with Royal Enfield bikes. Just like some of the Royal Enfield bikes, the Hness CB350 also faced some drops in its sales and was only able to sell 1,022 units in December, 2022.

The KTM 250 and the KTM 390 are two of the bikes which saw an increase in its sales. The sales of KTM 250 increased by 7.92% and the sales of the KTM 390 increased by 81.76%. 981 and 289 units of the bikes were sold respectively.

Bajaj bikes like the Dominar 250, Dominar 400, Avenger 220 and the Pulsar 250 faced more than 30% drop in its sales than previous year. The Dominar 250 and the Dominar 400 only sold 406 and 337 units respectively. The Avenger 220 only sold 270 units and the Pulsar 250 only had 245 of its units sold in December, 2022.

The Honda CB300R even if it marked an increase of 380% in its sales, only 48 units were sold. The Honda CB500 didn’t even sell 1 unit and marked a 100% drop in its sales.

The Ninja 300 and the Ninja 400 both only sold 96 and 2 units respectively. The FZ25 from Yamaha also sold only one unit. The GIXXER 250 from Suzuki is another bike which sold only a few of its units. Only 8 units of the bike was sold. However, the Suzuki V Strom 250 sold a total of 291 units.

The sales of the TVS Apache 310 falls a little back than the sales of V Strom 250. The bike sold 214 units but is still at a 36.87% drop than last years sales in December.

Apart from the Hunter 350, KTM 250, KTM 390 and the Honda CB300R, the Husqvarna 250 marked a 37.5% increase in its sales. A total of 66 of its bikes were sold in December, 2022. The retail sales of Jawa/Yezdi also marked a significant increase of 7.93% and a total of 2,689 of its units were sold.
