Nokia Changes its Iconic Logo for the First Time in 60 Years: Here’s More About it

The Finnish telecommunications and consumer electronics company, Nokia changes its logo for the first time in about 60 years. The blue colour which was there in the first logo has also been changed to a variety of colours which will change according to the use.

Nokia’s Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Pekka Lundmark, at the eve of the annual Mobile World Congress(MWC) event held in Barcelona, spoke of the business plans the company has ahead and the change in the logo is taken as part of the business strategy the company is going to follow.

After Lundmark was assigned the position of the CEO, he took out a three level strategy to improve the conditions within the company. His strategy involved three steps – reset, accelerate and scale. The reset stage is over and the company is starting its next step.

According to what Lundmark has said, the company has made a 21% growth when compared to the previous year in its service provider business. The company currently sells equipments to various telecom companies and from now on, will also aim at selling their gears to other companies as well. Many companies has also joined with Nokia to start selling their own private 5G network services.

The company also plans in looking into its current businesses and will, in the future, only try to pursue business that will let them gain leadership in the global scenario. The company will also take steps like divesting, where they will sell business which they find not worth to pursue.

All these steps will also lead Nokia to compete with many big tech giants which includes companies like Microsoft and Amazon.
