NVIDIA is Getting Ready to Make AI Super Computers in the US; Blackwell Chip Production Already Begun

The American multinational technology company – NVIDIA, along with manufacturing partners, is getting itself ready to make its first AI super computers entirely in the United States. In related news, the production of Blackwell chips has also begun in the country.

Here’s more about the update.

NVIDIA’s US-Made AI Super Computers Coming

Via a new blog post, NVIDIA has officially announced that the brand is currently working with its manufacturing partners to both design and set up new plants in the US that will for the first time produce AI super computers entirely within the country. The plants are being set up in Texas – one in Houston (with Foxconn) and the other in Dallas (with Wistron). Mass production at both these plants are also expected to start in 12 – 15 months.

To add, NVIDIA has commissioned a manufacturing space in Arizona for building and testing its Blackwell chips, while the production has already begun at TSMC’s plant in Phoenix, Arizona. Furthermore, as the supply chain of AI super computers and AI chips require more advanced technologies for their manufacturing, packaging, assembly, and testing processes, NVIDIA has also partnered with SPIL and Amkor in Arizona.

“The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time. Adding American manufacturing helps us better meet the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and boosts our resiliency,” said Jensen Huang (Co-founder and CEO of NVIDIA).

Speaking more, through its partnership with companies like TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, SPIL, and Amkor, NVIDIA over the next four years aims to produce about half a trillion dollars worth AI infrastructure within the United States. Also, new job opportunities and economic gains in the US community are also going to be a part of this major step.
