Ola Electric achieves 25% market share in 2W segment with 24,341 registrations in January 2025, records 76.4% MoM growth

Ola Electric, India’s largest pure-play EV company, has reported 24,341 vehicle registrations in January 2025, capturing a 25% market share in the 2W electric two-wheeler segment. The company recorded a 76.4% month-on-month growth in registrations compared to December 2024, according to VAHAN data.
The growth comes alongside the expansion of Ola’s sales and service network to 4,000 stores nationwide. A spokesperson for Ola Electric Mobility Limited stated, “It has been an impressive start to the year for us as we emerged as a clear leader in the EV 2W industry yet again. While we are committed to further cementing our position in the segment, our recently launched Gen-3 portfolio has set new benchmarks in performance and reliability across the 2W industry in India. With our diverse EV propositions across premium and mass-market segments and expansion of our sales network beyond tier-1 and tier-2 cities, Ola Electric will continue to lead India’s transition towards #EndICEAge.”
New Generation Launch and Pricing
The company has introduced its Gen 3 portfolio with the following models:
- S1 Pro+ with 5.3kWh and 4kWh options at ₹1,69,999 and ₹1,54,999 respectively
- S1 Pro with 4kWh and 3kWh options at ₹1,34,999 and ₹1,14,999 respectively
- S1 X range priced from ₹79,999 to ₹99,999 for different battery capacities
- S1 X+ with 4kWh battery at ₹1,07,999
Gen 2 scooters continue to be available with discounts up to ₹35,000.
Technical Improvements
The Gen 3 platform features:
- Mid-drive motor and chain drive system
- Integrated MCU (Motor Control Unit)
- 20% increase in peak power over Gen 2
- 11% reduction in cost
- 4% increase in energy efficiency
