OPPO is Going to Invest $1.4 Billion on OnePlus: The Dual Brand Strategy Aims at Bringing OnePlus Back to its Glory

In the 9th anniversary celebrations of OnePlus, OPPO had announced its plan to treat both OPPO and OnePlus as dual brands. As per the dual brand strategy, OPPO plans to invest CNY 10 billion(about $1.4 billion) on OnePlus.

Liu Zuohu, the founder of OnePlus and the Chief Product Officer at OPPO had announced its plan to invest CNY 10 billion on OnePlus. OPPO will also share its resources with OnePlus.

Liu Zuohu had founded OnePlus after working in OPPO for 15 years. In 2021, both the brands merged and the two companies belong to BBK Electronics.

Under the dual brand strategy, which OPPO is going to try out, the company not only plans to just invest in OnePlus, they also plan to share resources with it.

OPPO will share more of its cutting edge technology with OnePlus and will keep OnePlus on the shelf of OPPO’s offline retail stores in China. Moreover, The brand will also share more than 1000 of its after sales network as well.

The company plans to make OPPO a global tech brand, with its Find series focussing on its imaging systems and the Reno series focussing on its design. OnePlus will be focussing more on its performance and will be sold through online channels.

OnePlus has lost its glory, which once it had. By these steps taken by Liu Zuohu, he plans to bring OnePlus back to its glory.
