Sensex closes 153 points higher at 57,260; Nifty ends session at 17,053 points.
The Indian stock market had a very tumultuous opening trading day of the week. Throughout the day, there was a lot of movement in the market. However, profit-booking returned to the market in the afternoon, with the Sensex rising 153 points to 57,260 and the Nifty closing at 17053, up 27 points.
The market had opened with a dip earlier in the morning. The Sensex, however, plummeted by more than 700 points and the Nifty by more than 240 points shortly after. However, as the company grew, the stock of Reliance Industries rose, and the market recovered. During the day’s trading session, the Sensex was up 519 points and the Nifty was up 134 points at one point.
That is, the Sensex rose 1244 points and the Nifty rose 378 points from their lows of the day.
Apart from small-cap and mid-cap stocks, auto, pharma, FMCG, and energy sector stocks fell in today’s market, while IT and healthcare sector stocks rose.
Stocks are soaring.
Kotak Mahindra Bank increased by 2.83 percent to Rs 2019, HCL Tech increased by 2.08 percent to Rs 1133, TCS increased by 1% to Rs 2502, Reliance Industries increased by 1.20 percent to Rs 2442, and Bajaj Finserv increased by 1.25 percent. The stock ended the day at Rs 16,890.
Stocks are losing value.
Bajaj Auto is down 1.09 percent at Rs 3298, ITC is down 1.12 percent at Rs 221.50, and Hero MotoCorp is down 1.53 percent at Rs 2490.
