What is Muhurat Trading, and how does it work?
On Diwali, muhurat trading is an hour of auspicious stock market trading (Deepawali). It is a symbolic and ancient ritual that has been preserved and observed by the commercial community for centuries. The practice began on the BSE in 1957 and on the NSE in 1992.
The Muhurat trading session was place on November 14 last year. The BSE Sensex ended the Muhurat trading day at 43,638, while the NSE finished at 12,771.
