Today is Bitcoin’s creator Satoshi Nakamoto’s Birthday

Satoshi Nakamoto, the developer of Bitcoin (BTC), has always been unknown, therefore you might be wondering how people might commemorate the founder’s birthday. The answer is that when Nakamoto registered the renowned pseudonym with P2PFoundation.ning.com, he, she, or they specified their birthday as April 5. One of the internet communities where Satoshi originally disclosed the idea of Bitcoin was the P2P Foundation.

People believe the birthday is also made up, given the phoney name. But they’ve also observed that April 5 is an important day in US monetary history: it’s the anniversary of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Executive Order 6102, which was issued in 1933.

Private ownership or “hoarding” of gold coins, bullion, and certificates was prohibited by the edict. People were allowed to keep tiny sums of money worth less than $100 at the time, if they used it in industrial trades or for a few other reasons.
In return for dollars, Americans were expected to pay up any considerable amount of gold to the Federal Reserve. The dollar was then depreciated by FDR to make it easier to repay the massive debt that had accumulated during the Great Depression.

While this may have aided the government in escaping a tough position, others have interpreted Executive Order 6102 as a threat to individuals’ right to keep their riches in gold.

We can’t be sure Satoshi chose April 5 as their birthday for that purpose, but we do know that Bitcoin’s founder was interested in monetary history and concerned about individuals’ ability to protect their money and keep it safe from government meddling. It is still a major motivator for Bitcoin advocates today. The value proposition of Bitcoin is often referred to as “digital gold.”

Satoshi specified their birth year as 1975, which is likely a reference to the history of individual gold ownership in the United States. That was the year that President Gerald Ford overturned Executive Order 6102, allowing people to hold as much gold as they desired once more.

Alternatively, Satoshi could have been born on April 5, 1975.
