UST and Western Sydney University Partner to Advance Agricultural Technology Solutions
UST has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Western Sydney University (WSU) on November 29th, 2024, to collaborate on agritech solutions development. The partnership will combine WSU’s research capabilities with UST’s technology solutions to address agricultural sustainability and food security challenges.
The collaboration focuses on conducting research, developing agritech solutions, and implementing mentoring programs. Both organizations will also work on knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Distinguished Professor George Williams AO, Vice-Chancellor, Western Sydney University, stated: “This is an exciting partnership with UST that will help us tackle issues such as food security and agricultural sustainability. We are bringing together our respective research strengths and extensive expert knowledge to collaborate on joint research initiatives, foster new ideas and, most critically, develop innovative and sustainable agrictech solutions that can address these pressing global challenges.”
The MOU signing ceremony took place in Bengaluru, India, with attendees including Hilary McGeachy, Australian Consul General, Bengaluru, and representatives from both organizations. The partnership aims to contribute to global food security initiatives by combining the resources and expertise of both institutions.
