Wipro appoints former Accenture executive Amit Kumar as managing partner and global head of Wipro Consulting

Wipro has announced the appointment of Amit Kumar as Managing Partner and Global Head of Wipro Consulting, effective immediately. In his new role, Kumar will report directly to CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia and join the company’s Executive Board.
The appointment comes as Wipro strengthens its consulting practice with a focus on artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Kumar will spearhead the company’s consulting initiatives, with a particular emphasis on delivering AI-powered solutions and guiding clients through complex business and technological transitions.

Kumar brings more than 24 years of consulting experience to the role, having worked across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific regions. His expertise spans multiple industries, including High-Tech, Chemicals, Energy, Retail, Automotive, and Consumer Goods, with a strong focus on Business Transformation, Operational Excellence, Engineering, Manufacturing Digitization, and Supply Chain Management.

Before joining Wipro, Kumar spent 17 years at Accenture Consulting, where he most recently served as Managing Director, overseeing the Americas Market and Industry X Consulting practice. He holds a degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and a master’s in management from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. Kumar will be based in the greater New York area.
