Wipro Limited has announced the appointment of Omkar Nisal as Chief Executive Officer for its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), effective immediately. Nisal, who will be based in London, succeeds Pierre Bruno and will report directly to CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia while joining the Wipro Executive Board.
Nisal brings over a decade of experience with Wipro, having joined the company in 2012. His most recent role was as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the UK and Ireland region, where he managed a regional P&L exceeding one billion dollars.
During his tenure at Wipro, Nisal has established himself in the banking sector, particularly leading the Banking-EMEA business. His work has involved collaborating with financial institutions across the UK, Ireland, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, focusing on digital transformation, customer journey redesign, enterprise engineering, and AI-led automation.
“Omkar’s strategic vision, combined with a strong understanding of the European market dynamics, well positions him to lead our ambitious plans for growth and expansion,” said Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro Limited. Pallia also acknowledged outgoing leader Pierre Bruno’s contributions, noting that Bruno will assist with the transition over the coming months.

Nisal, who holds an honors degree in Computer Science, maintains his technical expertise, having applied for patents in Channels, AML, and Fraud Detection. His appointment underscores Wipro’s commitment to strengthening its European presence and fostering sustainable growth in the region.
