Xiaomi and Oppo shipment of phones fell highest while OnePlus and POCO shipment grew the fastest reveals IDC report
As per the latest report published by International Data Corporation(IDC) India’s smartphone market remained flat year over year in Q3 2023 with 44 million units shipments due to weak performance in the quarter. If we talk about the brand’s performance Samsung overtook Vivo with a share of 16.2% in Q3 2023.
“Samsung surpassed vivo for the leadership position, although its shipments declined YoY. Samsung had the highest ASP amongst the top five brands at US$381, growing by 43% YoY,” IDC said.
As far as Samsung’s shipment is concerned it fell to 12.2% YoY and its market share also fell from 18.5% in Q3 2022 to 16.2% in Q3 2023. Realme is in the second position with a 6.5% year-over-year rise in its shipments, which helped in growth in market share from 14.2% in Q3 2022 to 15.1% in Q3 2023.
Among the top five listed brands Vivo has managed to be in third position with the highest growth of 13.7% year over year. Xiaomi and Oppo have been hard hit, which fell the highest at 32.4% year over year and 20.2% year over year respectively.
OnePlus and POCO have witnessed the fastest growth at 50.8% year over year and 50.1% year over year, respectively, the report says. If we talk about Apple, its shipments grew by 10% year over year while its market share expanded from 5% in Q3 2022 to 5.5% in Q3 2023.
