Yoshitha Rajapaksa owns a stake in Baidu, a Chinese search engine. The share is worth $7 billion dollars.

Lieutenant Commander Yoshitha Rajapaksa is a former naval officer and sportsman from Sri Lanka. He is the son of Sri Lanka’s sixth president, Mahinda Rajapaksa, and currently serves as the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff.

He was a Lieutenant Commander in the Sri Lanka Navy and the President’s aide-de-camp. He is one of the owners of Carlton Sports Network, one of several organisations named after Rajapaksa’s Carlton House, including Carlton Preschool and Carlton Rugby, and he was a former captain of the Sri Lanka national rugby union team and the Navy SC rugby team. In the Dialog Rugby League, he currently plays for the CH & FC.

Baidu, Inc. is a Chinese multinational technology company headquartered in Beijing’s Haidian District that specialises in Internet-related services and products as well as artificial intelligence (AI). It is one of the world’s largest AI and Internet companies. The group’s holding company is incorporated in the Cayman Islands.

Robin Li and Eric Xu founded Baidu in January 2000. The Baidu search engine is currently ranked sixth in the Alexa Internet rankings.
