You will have to wait for your next VIVO phone: India holds export of 27,000 VIVO phones
The brand VIVO is a well-known Chinese smartphone maker. And while it had started gaining control over the Indian smartphone market, Indian authorities have now decided to hold the export of as many as 27,000 smartphones.
This is a setback for the Chinese brand and might suffer heavily due to the same. These phones are being held up in the Indian capital New Delhi by the revenue intelligence unit of the Finance Ministry of India.
VIVO is being held accountable for the misdeclaration of their smartphones along with their valuation. The brand is also facing a money laundering case. This is yet to be proven in court. This is happening amidst the India-China clash which is worsening day by day.
This blockage of these VIVO smartphones is expected to warn and take control over the other Chinese brands in the Indian electronics market. There are no public comments on this matter as it is confidential. Some highly ranked officials also said these actions were unwarranted.
These actions might also lead to a loss for India as it would take out many players out of the market. It would also reduce the motivation and drive to encourage the manufacturing of electronics and exports from the Indian market. This could also hamper India’s target of exports worth US $ 120 billion by March 2026.
What will happen next will be surely awaited.
