Check out the world’s oldest living dog – It has been identified as a 22-year-old Toy Fox Terrier

Bobby and Julie Gregory of Taylors, South Carolina, USA, had no clue when they decided to add a puppy to their family that their beloved Pebbles would hold the record for the oldest dog alive almost two decades later.

The four-pound Toy Fox Terrier, who was born on March 28, 2000, is now 22 years and 59 days old and keeps proving to the world that anything is possible.

The Gregorys knew Pebbles was older after hearing about Toby Keith, the world’s oldest living dog.

“Bobby was sitting on the couch and friends and family started texting and calling about a story they saw about a 21-year-old dog getting the record,” said Julie.

“When I saw Toby Keith’s story all over the news, I applied.”

When Pebbles’ family first saw the pocket-sized pup, they had intended to get a large breed dog.

Pebbles made up for her lack of size with her relatively large personality.

Bobby spotted the puppy following him and trotting alongside her enclosure each time he walked by as he gazed around.

“It was instant love the second the two met,” Julie continued.

Since the day she first placed her paws in the Gregory family, Pebbles has been the queen of her area.

When Pebbles is woken up, she can be a little grumpy, but she normally has a peaceful and kind disposition.

She adores scritches and snuggles, as well as the attention she receives from her family.

On the other hand, her lifestyle matches that of a party animal.

She spends most of her time sleeping in till 5 o’clock in the afternoon and listening to songs.

“She loves listening to country music while she is sleeping. Her two favorite country singers are Conway Twitty and Dwight Yokum,” Julie continued.

Pebbles would have something to eat and drink as soon as she wakes up from her doggy nap.

Pebbles was once a happily married dog, but in 2017 she became a widow after her 16-year-old “husband,” Rocky, a Toy Fox Terrier, died.

Across three litters, the two had a total of 24 puppies together.

Pebbles has rediscovered joy in her life over the years by engaging in some of her favorite hobbies. She doesn’t play with toys very much, but she does have a few other interests. She may occasionally venture out into the lawn to play with her favorite owner Bobby and take walks beneath the palm tree.

Pebbles, who enjoys warm weather, looks forward to sitting on the steps of her family’s pool and soaking up the rays during the summer.

She, astonishingly, still has a strong appetite and eagerly anticipates her meals. Her veterinarian switched her to a cat food diet in 2012, which is considered to have a higher meat-based protein content than dog food.

The Gregory family may occasionally throw a bone to their dog, despite the fact that table food is normally too rich and fatty for them.

Pebbles is occasionally allowed to enjoy a special delicacy like as steak or a chicken burger.

Pebbles, in reality, celebrated her 22nd birthday with a stack of ribs and a warm bubble bath. She is in excellent health, except from the standard indications of age.

Julie recalls reading about the world’s tallest and longest living people, but she never anticipated her dog would one day claim a Guinness World Record.
