Legendary Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman used the same MiG-21 Bison Aircraft as Harshit Sinha, Check it out!

Indian Air Force received its first soviet origin single-engine MiG-21 in 1963 and since then India has been using the different variants of the fighter plane.

Today MiG- Bison 21 met with a flying incident resulting in its crash in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan which led to the demise of Pilot Wing Commander Harshit Sinha. It is the fifth accident of the fighter plane this year and in the last six decades, over 400 MiG-21s have been involved in accidents which gave them the title “Flying Coffin” or “Widow Maker”. Their safety levels are largely questioned but Indian Air Force uses it so there’s maybe a great reason for it.

We shall not forget that the legendary Wing Commander (now Group Captain) Abhinandan Vardhaman used the same plane MiG-21 Bison to strike against the terror targets in Balakot region of Pakistan two years ago.

A day later of the airstrike on the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s (JeM) camp by the Indian Air Force in Pakistan’s Balakot region, some aircrafts of the Pakistan Air Force including advanced fourth-generation F-16 and JF-17 were spotted moving towards LoC. The Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman with his great courage and same criticized MiG-21 Bison downed Pakistan’s F-16 and even forced the force to step back.

His aircraft was also hit by several missiles which ejected him into Pakistan’s territory but he was later brought back by the Indian government.

He was also awarded Vir Chakra for his bravery. But this proves the fact that MiG-21 Bison also helped the country to achieve and accomplish the tasks in difficult circumstances but it maybe does not deserve such criticisms.
