In a major lift to the Indian Air Force (IAF), three French Rafale multi-battle contender streams that took off from France on Wednesday in a direct trip to India arrived at an IAF base. The planes flew over 7000km with in-flight refueling.
“The third batch of three Rafale aircraft landed at an IAF base a short while ago. They flew over 7000Km with in-flight refuelling. The aircraft got airborne earlier in the day from #IstresAirBase in France. IAF deeply appreciates the tanker support provided by UAE Air Force,” Indian Air Force tweeted.
This clump is the third arrangement of conveyances of the Rafale airplanes to the IAF. The aviation based armed forces had requested an aggregate of 36 warplanes at an expense of ₹59,000 crores from France in September 2016. This conveyance will take the quantity of Rafales in the IAF’s stock to 11.
The second clump of the IAF’s three Rafale contender jets had arrived at the Jamnagar airbase toward the beginning of November a year ago before they traveled to their headquarters in Ambala.
