Top military officer say that there will be no rollback of Agnipath Scheme despite of widespread protest
Since the launch of the Agnipath scheme on 14th June, It is followed by criticism and protest by army aspirants from all over India as the majority of the aspirants participating in the protest think that this scheme will go to discourage them and not do justice to the one who is actually preparing for Armed Forces.
Army aspirants demanded to roll back this scheme and some of them also expected that it will be rolled back due to widespread protests all over India.
A senior officer Lt General Anil Puri on Sunday cleared the air by asserting that the programme will not be rolled back and appealed to the youth to end their protest.
Addressing a press conference which was attended by the officers from the Indian Navy and Air Force, Lt General Anil Puri said
“No rollback of Agnipath scheme. Why should it be rolled back? It is the only progressive step to making the country young. Why is it being made young? We are tinkering with ‘Desh ki Raksha. There is no space. For example – do you know how many casualties take place due to health conditions in high altitudes? Go and read, then you will realise why ‘young’ is needed,” he said.
