US and Indian Soldiers playing Kabaddi; video goes viral

On Saturday, Indian and American soldiers played friendly matches of Kabaddi, American Football, Soccer, and Volleyball as part of “ice-breaking exercises.”
According to the Indian Army, four mixed teams made up of personnel from both nations played a series of friendly matches with real sportsmanship.

Both teams gained knowledge from each other’s games. While the Indian troops tried their hand at American Football, the US forces competed in Kabaddi with similar zeal.

These sporting activities allowed the troops to get to know one another better, which will be beneficial in future activities like shooting, rappelling, and the final validation exercise, according to the Indian Army.

This is part of the 17th round of the India-US joint training exercise “Ex Yudh Abhyas 21,” which began on Friday at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson in Alaska. According to the Indian Army, the 14-day exercise involves collaborative training for UN-mandated missions.

According to the ministry, the exercise includes 300 US Army soldiers from the First Squadron (Airborne) of the 40th Cavalry Regiment and 350 Indian Army personnel from the 7 Madras Infantry Battalion Group. Under the United Nations mission, the 14-day training plan includes exercises on joint training in a counter-insurgency/counter-terrorism context.
