2022 American supernatural horror film ‘Umma’ written and directed by Iris K. Shim to be available for streaming on Netflix from 1 January 2024

The 2022 American supernatural horror film Umma, written and directed by Iris K. Shim will be available for streaming on Netflix from 1 January 2024. The film was earlier released in the theatres on March 15, 2022, in Koreatown and on March 18, 2022, in the United States. The film is available in English and Korean language.

Sony Pictures Entertainment released the official trailer for ‘Umma’ on their YouTube channel on March 2, 2022. You can check out the trailer here.

Premise: Umma in Korean means mother. The film ‘Umma’ follows Amanda and her daughter who live a quiet life on an American farm. However, the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea and she becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her mother. She is left with no choice but to confront her past.

Cast: The film features Sandra Oh, Fivel Stewart, Dermot Mulroney, Odeya Rush, MeeWha Alana Lee, and Tom Yi in major roles.

The production companies involved in the production of the film are Stage 6 Films, Raimi Productions, and Starlight Media. The film is distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The producers for the film are Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi.
