Director of the Fast and Furious 11 announced, Universal Pictures thrilled by his magic

Finally, Universal Pictures has confirmed to Variety that Louis will direct Fast and Furious 11. It was not so hard to predict when Louis Leterrier replaced Justin Lin as director of the ‘Fast X’ that he will be seen again in this two-decade-old franchise.

Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer has made a statement to Variety in which he said “Louis joined the ‘Fast & Furious’ team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades. Under his direction, ‘Fast X’ is a high-intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some”. He further added, “ We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair”.

Leterrier has been able to replace his strong opponent because of his impressive portfolio which includes the direction of similar car-focused action series like ‘The Transporter series. He has also directed the magic heist film “Now You See Me” and Emmy winner “Lupin”. The idea behind letting Louis conclude the series so that viewers don’t feel disjointed as Louis directed “Fast X”. The “Fast” films have earned more than $6 billion at the worldwide box office which makes it the most profitable and longest-running franchise. The finale is likely to feature Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner for an emotional conclusion.
