Disney+ won’t be continuing with season 2 of National Treasure: Edge of History

No more adventure for Jess the Dreamer because Deadline has reported that Disney+ has canceled National Treasure: Edge of History for a second season. This news arrived two months after the series wrapped up for the first season in February.

If the decision sounds hard, the reason must have been more hard than it. Its show earning was 38% critics score and 49% audience score which doesn’t sound enough to push people to again work on it. This is neither a new thing to Disney+ which has struggled to launch any original series outside Marvel and Star Wars. Disney+ recently canceled The Mysterious Benedict after two seasons and John Stamos’s series Big Shot and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

Season 1 of The National Treasure: Edge of History is about Lisette Alexis’ Jess a dreamer who embarks on a journey to find the ancient Pan-American treasure and uncover the truth about her family. Season 1 saw some guest appearances by the National Treasure Film stars Justin Bartha and Harvey Keitel. Further, we get to see Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin, Lydon Smith, and Catherine who played the role of antiquities dealer looking for something similar to treasure. Now discounting the series might make viewers sad who like it.
