The American supernatural horror drama anthology television series, “The Terror”, now has its first Season streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on a novel of the same name by Dan Simmons. The first season of the series premiered on AMC in the United States and Canada on March 25, 2018. The Terror was developed by David Kajganich. The production companies involved in the series are Scott Free Productions, Entertainment 360, EMJAG Productions, Aquatic Wonders, Inc; and AMC Studios.

The Terror’s first season premise follows the ships of the Royal Navy trapped in unfavorable conditions. The Royal Navy’s polar explorer ships HMS Erebus and HMS Terror are on their way toward King William Island, which is an uncharted territory. They aim to explore and confirm the existence of the Northwest Passage. On its way to check the navigability of the Northwest Passage, the ships froze up and got trapped in the ice.
