Murphy’s Oppenheimer movie release date revealed

It’s time to get excited for the most awaited movie Oppenheimer, which is set to release in theatres on 7th July 2023. A poster featuring Murphy’s Oppenheimer with the atomic bomb behind him giving a glimpse of the movie has been shared by the Oppenheimer named Twitter account. This movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. It is an IMAX-shot epic thriller movie featuring Cillian Murphy as  J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Murphy is joined in the cast by Emily Blunt as Oppenheimer’s wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer; Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project; Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission; Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock; Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist Edward Teller; Michael Angarano as Robert Serber; and Josh Hartnett as pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence.

Murphy as a leading actor

In a recent interview with the Associated Press the actor Murphy admitted that he “was desperate” to lead the Nolan movie, Variety reported. “I have always said publicly and privately, to Chris, that if I’m available and you want me to be in a movie, I’m there. I don’t really care about the size of the part,” Murphy said. “But deep down, secretly, I was desperate to play lead for him.” Nazi Germany was invading lands and sentencing people to jails, when it invaded Poland in 1939 Albert Einstein, Leo Szilard, and Eugene Wigner warned the US government.

Facts about Oppenheimer

This warning was about the Nazis making a nuclear bomb that could be a threat to humanity so the US should have one before them. A team was created under the guidance of Oppenheimer who brought some of the best minds to work on the problem of creating an atomic bomb. His leadership quality and deep understanding of science resulted in the successful first explosion at Alamogordo on July 16, 1945. His strong opposition to the development of the Hydrogen bomb was something that somehow brought him under the accusation of being a communist sympathizer.

Bhagavad-Gita and Atomic bomb

After the successful testing of the Nuclear bomb, Oppenheimer explained the thoughts of people witnessing it in an interview. Quoting  Bhagavad Gita “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of the worlds,” he said everyone was thinking it one or another way. These lines were said by lord Vishnu in his grand multi-armed form while persuading the prince to do his duty and impress him. It somehow explains why he was against Hydrogen bomb development. He knew the extent of power that a man gets from these things over the life and death of the whole of humanity.
