Oscar-nominated Babylon makes debut in Paramount+
As tweeted by Discussing Film, the early Hollywood epic Babylon, which was helmed by Damien Chazelle, has made its streaming debut on Paramount+. It is currently available in the US and Canada. Later this year, it will also make its Paramount+ premiere in the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Latin America, Brazil, and South Korea.

The movie is a three-hour celebration of cinema, set in the 1920s Los Angeles. It is an Academy Award-nominated movie which illustrates the rise and fall of a handful of Hollywood-hopefuls in the 1920s, drawing inspiration from the real-life stars of the silent film era.
Babylon is up for three Academy Awards, including Best Original Score, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design. The movie was also nominated in the very same categories at the BAFTAs.
It stars Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and newcomer Diego Calva. Tobey Maguire, Li Jun Li, Samara Weaving, Jean Smart and Olivia Wilde also appear in the Hollywood drama.
The movie is a Marc Platt/Wild Chickens/Organism Pictures production, and a Damien Chazelle film, is written and directed by Damien Chazelle (“First Man,” “La La Land“). The movie was shot during the pandemic for $80M in Santa Clarita, CA.
The movie, inspired by real-life Hollywood players from the 1920s, follows an ambitious cast of characters who are striving to stay on top of the raucous eras Hollywood scene and keep their relevance at a time when the business is moving on to the next big thing. It is interesting account of an important transition in the History of cinema.
