Wednesday, 28 June 2023, saw the teaser release of Abhilash Joshiy’s directorial debut, King of Kotha. King of Kotha is an upcoming Malayalam language film. The film is scheduled to be released on 25 August 2023.

King of Kotha is produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. The cast comprises Dulquer Salman, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod, Shammi Thilakan, Saran and Anikha Surendran.
Nimish Ravi is the cinematographer of the film and Shyam Sasidharan has edited the film.
The film’s score is composed by Jakes Bejoy.
The film along with its title was first announced on 28 June 2021.
According to Dulquer Salmaan, who is taking up the role of one of the major characters of the film, expressed that the film consists of everything from perfect clap points to catchy songs to elevation sequences. The film is one of his dream projects with his childhood friend Abhilash Joshiy.
Abhilash N. Chandran, who earlier worked on Porinju Mariam Jose (2019), wrote King of Kotha.
Salmaan earlier stated in an interview in the year 2022, that King of Kotha is an action gangster genre, noir film set in a fictional town.
Last week, on 23 June, the film’s motion poster, titled “People of Kotha” was released.
