Here is a list of High-speed rail stations located in Delhi
The national capital, Delhi is likely to get 2 high-speed railway station with 3 High-speed rail(HSR) corridors from Delhi to Amritsar, Ahmedabad and Varanasi. These stations will be planned keeping in mind the connectivity of road, metro and bus connectivity.
Sushma Gaur, NHSRCL spokesperson stated that NHSRCL is exploring possibilities to plan two HSR stations in Delhi; Sarai Kale Khan and Nizamuddin Railway station for Delhi-Varanasi HSR corridor.
The station for the proposed Delhi-Varanasi HSR corridor is in the Sarai Kale Khan-Nizamuddin station area, National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited(NHSRCL) is, however, exploring locations for other 2 stations i.e. Delhi-Ahmedabad and Delhi-Amritsar HSR corridor which is in close proximity of Sector-21, Dwarka Metro Station and Bijwasan Railway Station leading to better connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport and to Central Delhi via Airport express Line West Delhi, Central Delhi, East Delhi and NOIDA through Blueline Metro Line, upcoming International Convention Centre at Sector-25 and Gurugram.
Further, she pointed out that these HSR stations are being planned as per the proposed route alignment, keeping in mind the population and population density of the area where the station is proposed along with the possibility of integration with other modes of transport, technical feasibility and financial viability.
Development of HSR will not only provide fast, safe and comfortable travel experience, but will also provide social and economic development, connectivity, employment and upliftment of large areas.
The average unit cost of HSR project is likely to be of Rs 250-280 crores per km.
