The Omicron form, which was first discovered in South Africa, has now been confirmed in 23 countries, with the number projected to grow, according to WHO.
The UK, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Israel are among the countries listed as “at-risk” by the Centre.
Those arriving in India from certain “at-risk” countries would be subjected to RT-PCR tests and will only be allowed to leave the airport once the findings are received.
