30 kg of drugs will be burnt on July 30 in front of Home Minister Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Chandigarh to address the National Conference on ‘Drug Trafficking and National Security’ on Saturday, 30th July.
Chief Minister of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh Administrator, BSF Officers, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as well as the Anti-Narcotics Task Force chiefs will also be present.
Moreover, this is the first national conference where the Union Home Minister, Chief Minister of different states and different Drugs Enforcement Agencies will be on the same platform.
NCB teams of Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati and Kolkata will be disposing off around 30,000 kg of drugs in front of Home Minister Amit Shah via video conferencing.
Moreover, on the occasion of India’s 75th year of independence, the NCB has pledged to destroy 75,000 kilograms of drugs on the special occasions.
“So far, about 51,217.8402 kgs of drugs have been disposed of by the NCB teams in 11 different states till July 29.” the NCB has started a drug disposal campaign on June 1 this year.
This action is a closer step to making India a drug-free country.
