A 1000 drones light up the sky during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

More than a thousand Made in India drones lit up the sky in Delhi. On the eve of the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence, thousand of drones glistered in the night sky during the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk, Delhi.

On Saturday, January 29, the drones created several formations in various colours as part of the Beating Retreat Ceremony. The drones were seen sparkling in white, saffron and green colours of the Indian flag. The drones marked an outline of the National War Memorial as well.

The light show was coordinated by a startup called Botlab Dynamics. The show was assisted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. To commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence, India is celebrating the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava’. The ceremony was envisaged under the Indian Government’s Make in India initiative.

The ceremony addressed 26 performances made by the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, the Indian Air Force and CAPFs. The event was administered by President Ramnath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and several other ministers.

The end of the ceremony was marked by a nationalist song, ‘Saare Jahan Se Acha.’
