A man hacks women’s Instagram account for defaming her, arrested in Mumbai
A man from Uttar Pradesh named ‘Yakub Danial Katti’, has been arrested in Mumbai for defaming a woman while hacking her Instagram account.
The accused posted that the woman, who is supposed to marry on June 10, will leave her groom and run away.
The woman is a resident of Goregaon East, got engaged in May. And on June 10, she’ll be marrying her fiance.
Moreover, her parents posted her wedding cards on social media. Also forwarded the wedding invitations to the family members and relatives on WhatsApp.
Later, one fine day, she noticed that her Instagram account was hacked by an unknown person which commented as, ‘This woman is going to leave her groom and run away from her wedding’. The accused Yakub Danial Katti claimed that the woman is known to him and was in his contact.
The Vanrai police stated that, ‘As soon as the woman learnt about the hack, she informed her parents and finance, who approached the police and reported the incident.
Based on their complaint, we registered a case against the unidentified person’.
Alongside, the police officer’s reported that the number is from Uttar Pradesh which was used to hack the woman’s Instagram account. Later, the police reached out to UP cyber crime police and identified that the accuser is a stranger to the woman and her family.
The police officer added, ‘We have arrested Katti and produced him before a metropolitan magistrate court which remanded him to police custody.’
‘We are now trying to find out the motive behind the crime and why Katti targeted the woman and where he got her contact details and Instagram account ID from’, the police added.
