Mahua Moitra, on Tuesday, commented on the Hindu Goddess Kaali. According to her, Kaali is a meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess. This comment was made because of the recent controversy on the poster of documentary film Kaali, which showed the goddess smoking a cigarette and holding an LGBTQ+ flag. However netizens demanded strict action against the filmmaker. Also, several people threatened the filmmaker that she may face consequences for hurting Hindu people’s sentiments.
As a reply, the director said that she is willing to pay with her life as she had nothing to lose. Till she has a voice, she will speak fearlessly and is ready to face the consequences of the people.
