An unsung hero of India ACP Ashish Kumar is using Twitter for a cause that is worthy of a news

ACP Ashish Kumar, the DANIPS and Assistant Commissioner of Paschim Vihar, Delhi Police, has warned netizens to avoid certain text messages containing HTTP hyperlinks. He took to Twitter in order to urge the citizens to not respond to any kind of messages containing phishing links.

ACP Ashish Kumar is a well-known figure who has cautioned netizens from cybercrime frauds even before. He has talked about cyberstalking and urged social media users to frequently change their privacy settings while uploading a picture and restrict visibility.

Last year he posted on Twitter saying, “Beware of Cyberstalking and follow safety tips. Don’t accept friendship request from strangers and Don’t share your personal information with unknowns/strangers.” He has been very vocal about cyberstalking which falls under cybercrime activity and shared tips to stay safe on various digital platforms.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau, cybercrime has increased in the country by 306% in the past four years. In 2016 the cybercrime cases registered were 12,317 while in 2020 it increased to 50,035. The Bureau also reported that almost 136 cybercrime cases were filed every day in 2020.

Last year ACP Ashish Kumar posted repeatedly on Twitter warning people of different types of cybercrime fraud messages with screenshots. The messages were usually sent to target older people to get them to click and respond to the messages.

APC Ashish Kumar has also been quick in responding to the tweets from people asking for his help. He has revolutionized social networking sites for the betterment of people delivering constant service to the citizens.
