As per the news floating around the internet, it claims that the National Center for Sickness Control (NCDC) stated on Friday that the government is prepared and attentive against viral disease despite the mounting concerns regarding monkeypox. 15 testing facilities have been established across the nation to screen for monkeypox infection, according to NCDC head Dr. Sujeet Singh.
Dr. Singh stated that the test will be done right away if any suspected cases were to arrive. The test is now being conducted by 15 testing facilities and our NCDC facility. There is also surveillance going on. The government is prepared and on alert and will adjust its plan to the scenario.
He also added that to maintain a careful eye on the entire situation, they often meet with all of the Union Ministry’s top personnel. It is pertinent to note that the monkeypox virus was isolated by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) from a clinical sample that was taken from a patient at the ICMR-NIV.
It is noteworthy that India has so far confirmed four cases of monkeypox, with three cases coming from Kerala and one from Delhi. The federal government is now on high alert as a result, despite an increase in the number of infections in several other nations. There is no need for alarm, according to Dr. V K Paul of NITI Aayog, who represents the health sector. This is because the government has taken considerable steps to control the disease.
He said that as of right now, there is no reason to panic, but anyone who notices any symptoms must report them promptly. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 78 different nations have reported more than 18,000 cases.
