Children of 15-18 year olds will be vaccinated from tomorrow, above 3.15 lakh registered till now

The increasing cases of Covid19 and Omicron in the country have increased the concern of the people. The total active cases crossed 1 lakh on Saturday. In such circumstance, in order to avoid the threat, it is allowed a crucial step by the government to commence a vaccination drive for children of 15-18 years from January 3.

Registration began on CoWIN portal

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has tweeted that Children are safe, the fate of the country is protected. On the event of New Year, enrollment is being commenced on COWIN portal for vaccination of teenagers in the age group of 15 to 18 years.  

3.15 lakh children enrolled so far. According to CoWIN data, till 11.30 pm on Saturday night, 3,15,416 teenagers of 15-18 years have enrolled, who will begin getting vaccination from tomorrow.

Children will receive only the dose of ‘Covaxin’ The Union Health Secretary has notified all the States and Union Territories that teenagers in the age group of 15-18 will be given only the dosage of ‘Covaxin’ at present made by Bharat Biotech Company.

You can also, enrol quickly by visiting the vaccination centre but to ensure social distancing and availability of doses at the centre it is prefer to register on CoWIN Portal. All vaccinated children will have to register themselves on the Co-WIN portal from January 1, 2022. From January 3, 2022, you can furthermore enrol immediately by attending the vaccination camp.

The second dose of vaccine will be given only after 28 days Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will be allocated to children and there will be an extent of only 28 days between two doses. However, the second dose of Covaxin is furthermore being given to adults only after 28 days.

To generate a vaccine slot for teenagers of 15-18 year’s old, first enroll on the Co-WIN app. You have to login with your mobile number. A original photo certificate of the youngster will also be compelled to generate the vaccine slot. If young teenagers do not have certificates like Voter ID, then Aadhar card will be used.
