Enforcement Directorate detains Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut in connection with a land fraud case
As per the news, it claims that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday in association with the Patra Chawl land fraud case. Following the financial investigation agency’s raid on the Shiv Sena leader’s home, the man was taken into custody. The arrest was disclosed to his brother Sunil Raut. On Monday afternoon, Raut will most likely be presented in the PMLA court.
On Sunday morning, a team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrived at the Mumbai home of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and detained him following a thorough search. In conjunction with a money laundering investigation into alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of a Mumbai “chawl,” Raut was under investigation.
He was detained at midnight on Monday after being questioned by the investigation agency since 7 am. Sanjay Raut was not collaborating with the ED officers, according to ED sources. He informed the authorities that he was a sitting MP and requested time till August 7 when they instructed him to depart for the ED office, according to sources.
We also came to know from the sources that Sunil Raut, the brother of Sanjay Raut, disputed the claims that the Rauts did not assist the investigation of the central agency. He claimed that they were permitted to examine every nook and cranny of our home. False accusations of disobedience have been made.
Moreover, Sunil Raut said that the ED action against him was a result of his friendship with former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. On Sunday, during a raid related to the Patra Chawl land scam case, the ED seized cash worth Rs 11.50 lakh from Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s home.
