Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been diagnosed with dengue fever, although his condition is improving, according to an AIIMS official
After complaining of weakness as a result of a fever, the 89-year-old Congress leader was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Wednesday evening.
According to AIIMS authorities, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been diagnosed with dengue fever, although his health is improving.
After complaining of weakness as a result of a fever, the 89-year-old Congress leader was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Wednesday evening. “He has been diagnosed with dengue,” an official stated Saturday, “but his platelet count is currently rising and his condition is improving.”
Singh has been admitted to a special room at the hospital’s cardio-neuro center and is being treated by a team of cardiologists led by Dr. Nitish Naik.
Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, visited with Singh on Thursday and inquired about his health.
After Mandaviya’s visit, a dispute developed since he reportedly brought a photographer with him when meeting the former prime minister. Daman Singh, Manmohan Singh’s daughter, had chastised Mandaviya for hiring a photographer against the family’s wishes.
Her mother was furious, Daman Singh told ThePrint, since a photographer had entered the room with the minister. “She was absolutely disregarded” when she demanded that the photographer leave the room. “She was in a bad mood. My parents are attempting to make the most of a bad situation. They are senior citizens. “Not zoo creatures,” says Daman Singh.
