Government suspends several social media accounts for circulating fake contents
The Union Minister, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the government has blocked several social media handles for circulating fake and inciting contents on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
He said that the account owners have been identified for a law action against them. He also stated that these social media platforms will be assessed on their due diligence.

73 Twitter accounts and 4 YouTube channels have been suspended.
The Government has taken this step after the circulation of a revamped video of Cabinet meeting. The officials told that the video tried to show that the meeting was against the Sikh community by using a superimposed audio to it.
The Ministry has also taken actions against several accounts on different social
media platforms for promoting disrespectful contents targeting Hindu women.
